Mayne Island embraces many of the services imperative to today’s global culture while maintaining an energetic “buy local” community. We are central to all the Southern Gulf islands and as such we make the perfect hub for your day trips to all the other islands. When you come to Mayne Island and arrive at your accommodation you are sure to be only a short distance to restaurants, liquor stores, the post office, ATMs, WiFi, grocery stores and unique shops and galleries. If your stay is more permanent we are well serviced with real estate and insurance agents, a hardware store, a gas station and many highly skilled trades people.
Mayne Island has a number recreation opportunities. Whether you’re on a boat, a beach, hiking or cycling you will experience the tremendous diversity of our coastal island environment. Fabulous opportunities wait at Bennett Bay, Mayne Islands’ gateway to the Gulf Islands National Park reserve. Both Georgina Point Heritage Park & Lighthouse and Mount Parke provide spectacular views. We have a strong community of artists and on Saturdays, May through October; many are at the Farmer’s Market.
