Mayne Island is a peaceful retreat offering year round activities including boating, hiking, biking, nature tours, shopping, fine dining, beach combing, and just “chillin’” all done amongst a temperate climate and a hospitable population
Discover Mayne Island
Mayne Island embraces many of the services imperative to today’s global culture while maintaining an energetic “buy local” community. The health centre, gas station, restaurants, liquor stores, post office, ATMs, WiFi, grocers, shops, galleries, trades and a hardware store all keep our economy vibrant.
Whether you’re on a boat, a beach, hiking or cycling you will experience the tremendous diversity of our coastal environment. Fabulous opportunities wait at Bennett Bay, Mayne Islands’ gateway to the Gulf Islands National Park. Both Georgina Point Heritage Park & Lighthouse and Mount Parke provide spectacular views. We have a strong community of artists and on Saturdays, May through October; many are at the Farmer’s Market.
Cycle quiet roads and along the way explore Mayne Island’s historical roots. Begin at our welcoming figure in Felix Jack Park, then, view the museum, built in 1886 as a jail, and visit St. Mary Magdalene Church. The renowned Japanese Gardens at Dinner Bay Park on former Japanese-owned land, honours early residents and their contribution to island life prior to World War 2.
