Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for seniors 55+  by helping people stay in their homes safely and comfortably for as long as possible. We believe that everyone needs a little support at times—and we’re here to offer it with compassion and care.

We envision a way of life where community members and service providers come together to support one another, creating a vibrant, age-friendly Mayne Island.

Our Programs
MIALS offers a variety of services and programs to support the health, independence, and social connection of older adults on Mayne Island. These include:
  • Meals on Wheels – Nutritious, homemade meals delivered to your door
  • Lunch Bunch – Twice-monthly community meals with guest speakers
  • Creative Café – A dementia-friendly social space with crafts, movement, games, and conversation
  • Transportation Support – Rides for medical appointments, errands, and programs via the Day Tripper Bus or volunteer drivers.
  • GenPal Intergenerational Program – Connecting seniors and students through storytelling and friendship

We are always evolving to meet the needs of our community.
Membership Options
  • Individual Membership – $10/year (includes one vote at the AGM)
  • Family Membership – $20/year (for two people in the same household; two AGM votes)
  • Volunteer Membership – Free (for active volunteers from the previous year--please inquire)
Donations
Yes! We gratefully accept donations, and tax receipts are issued for contributions over $20.
